Liz + Justin

This past Saturday I photographed Liz and Justin's engagement session at Horseshoe Bay. We had a great time. Justin's parents live in the community and went around with us while we looked for interesting views and good places to shoot. The weather was beautiful, if a little cold and windy. We capped off the day by being treated to dinner by Justin's parents. It was fun!

Life

I'm having a hard time with this post. Normally I just sit at my keyboard and words just sort of leak out of my mind through my fingers. But today is a little different. Today is the first day of our lives without my father-in-law. He died yesterday in Fredericksburg.

It's hard for me to describe him or what he meant to me. I can just say the loss is monumental. I will always miss him and the light he put in our lives. It's painful to think of life without his unfailing good cheer.

I'll be out in and out of town through the weekend as we begin the process of laying him to rest. Thanks for your patience and support.

Katie + Ryan

I met Katie and Ryan today at Mayfield Gardens for their engagement portrait. Katie and Ryan are going to be married in Manhatten, Kansas later in the summer, but wanted their engagement portrait to reflect where they live now. I was lucky enough to photograph this very nice, very cute couple. :) We ended up going to Mt. Bonnell to add a little local flavor to their photos.
