Occasionally I blog about my personal life because...well it just seems to be the thing to do. This post is going to be about some awesome experiences I had this weekend.
My hubby bought himself a fishing boat. It's not new or fancy, but it's got a nice sized engine and runs fast and quiet. We took it to Lake Austin on Saturday morning for its maiden voyage. It was so great. No one was out, the lake was calm and it was super cold in the wind. But amazingly fun and refreshing. We went to the same place a few Easters and one boat ago and the park was jam packed with people and there were so many boats you could practically step from one to another! This weekend was perfect. :)
Now for the fish tacos. I love fish, but only the swimmy ones with fins. Nothing that comes in a shell or wears a shell or is rubbery or has big teeth that would try to eat me first. On Monday we decided to go out to lunch as a family and my son recommended Berry Hill Baja Grill out on 360. It was SO good. I normally avoid fish when it is disguised as something else, but this time I gave it a try. Wow, well worth it. And they have grilled corn. Sorry for the advertisement, but you might be looking for some good fish tacos someday and will be glad you read this!
Pink epiphany...sounds kind of strange doesn't it? Well, it's not. I usually get my hair cut/highlighted/etc at a salon that was booked all weekend. So, being impatient I Googled what I was looking for and came up with The Pink Salon down on South Congress - one of my favorite areas. It's really great when your normal routine gets shaken up and you try something new. Now I have a new favorite stylist - named Tisa. Go see her, she is so worth whatever you pay. But here's the ephipany part. We were chatting about families and she commented that her 70 something father looks and acts very young, while her 60 something mother looks and acts much older than her age. Then she smiled and told me it made her lucky because she got to choose which parent she'd be like. Now that may not sound like much, but it hit home for me. In times when we tend to focus on the negative, Tisa had put a twist on the story and it came out positive. I really liked that attitude.
Now, for the last, and most irritating and important thing...email. My business email is NOT working on my computer. Katie fixed my personal email and in the process...yes, you guessed it. I can only receive it via my iPhone which is fine for quick messages, but when you're downloading 10 important messages in the midst of 150 spams, it can take forever. So, if you don't get a reply, please try again, or email me at my other email - lisapittman@sbcglobal.net or...pick up the phone and call!
Stay tuned for lots to come this weekend. We're shooting Rebecca and Scott's Stonewall Becker Vineyards wedding on Saturday and Eric and Sarah's Shoreline Grill ceremony on Sunday. It will be a busy, wedding filled weekend. Our favorite kind. :)
